Every May, flowers become synonymous with Mother's Day. The third most attended Sunday annually; this event has become an important event for honoring the ones who have cared for us when we have been unable to care for ourselves.

There is perhaps no better example of motherhood than through Mary, mother of Jesus. Mary's world-changing "yes" to the angel Gabriel showed both an acknowledgment of God?s love and a willingness to sacrifice herself to bear that love through her son, Jesus. It's a great story for celebrating the loving and sacrificial role of mothers. (Luke 1:26-38) Additionally, Solomon's soliloquy provides an eloquent way to honor the character of a godly woman, who finds her inspiration in God's love. (Proverbs 31:10-31)
